Kuala Lumpur Archdiocesan Catechetical Conference 2010
KL Archdiocese had arranged the 1st Conference on Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) which was held at Empress Hotel, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi from 5th Nov till 7th Nov 2010. The total attendance of catechists attending this conference was 559 inclusive of 34 catechists from our Church of Visitation Seremban. 13 (RCIA) and 20 (Sunday school teachers) - all language groups.
The programme started with the arrival of participants and registration. Followed by opening speeches by Rev William Michael and Archbishop Murphy Pakiam who declared the conference opened.
The following speakers for the various languages were:
English - Dr. Steven Selvaraju (KL Archdiocesan Pastoral Institute)
Mandarin - Fr. Jospeh Heng (St Theresa Church, Malacca)
B. Melayu- Sr Dariah Ajap (Catechectical Office,KK)
Tamil - Mr Pathinathan (Church of St Jude)
Four aspects of the CCC were covered namely the Profession of Faith, Celebrating our Faith(Sacraments), Living our Faith and Experiencing and Deepening our Faith.
