Commissioning of Catechists 2010

On Sunday 26 September 2010 at 9.00am Mass, all English speaking Catechists (Sunday School & RCIA) were present for the Commissioning of Catechists. May God bless them all.

Media Youth Camp

A Media Youth Camp was organised at Seminari Theoloji Malaysia (STM) on 3 - 5 September 2010 for Pre-Confirmation students. About 42 Pre-Confirmation students attended this camp. The students learned about what is media, how to appreciate movie viewing, teamwork and communication. They also discovered their talent in acting and producing short movies. On the last day of this camp, the parents of the Pre-Confirmation students came to give their support and admire their children's movie-making talent.

May this Media Youth Camp enable our Pre-Confirmation students to build long-lasting relationship with their classmates and help them be more zealous in understanding and deepening their faith.

T-Shirt Designing Competition

About 30 English-speaking Confirmation students participated in a t-shirt designing competition on Tuesday, 7 September 2010 at Visitation Hall Upstairs at 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. The theme of this T-Shirt Designing competition is "Daring to be Different." Besides the t-shirt designing, team-building games were also organised. This event enabled our Confirmation students to show their talents in designing interesting t-shirt designs. May this event enable our Catechism students to maintain a good bond among their classmates and may they be inspired to deepen and strenghten their faith.

Bible Camp for Children of Standard 1 - 3

A bible camp was conducted for Catechism children of Standard 1 - 3 on Tuesday 7 September 2010 at Visitation Hall downstairs at 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. The theme for this bible Camp is "My Lord, My Jesus, My Saviour." About 70 children from the English and Mandarin Catechism class attended. Various activities, games and even a bible quiz kept the children busy. May this camp inspire our children to read the bible more.

1st Indonesian Migrants Wedding

Our parish had it's first Indonesian migrants wedding at 12 pm in the church on Sunday, 29 August 2010. The groom is Blasius Manek and the bride Erina Manek. The wedding was attended by Visitation Church parishioners, friends and fellow Indonesian migrants.

Pilgrimage by Tamil Apostolate

On 31 August 2010, the Tamil Apostolate organised a pilgrimage to Klang at 8:30 am - 6:30 pm. This is the 3rd pilgrimage. The 1st pilgrimage was a trip to St. Paul's church, Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, in conjunction with the Year of St. Paul in 2008. The 2nd pilgrimage was to Malacca and Tampin for the opening of the Year of the Priest in 2009.

On this 3rd pilgrimage, which was a fruitful and spiritual experience for many pilgrims, the Tamil Apostolate visited St. Anne, Port Klang, and Our Lady of Lourdes Church. 225 pilgrims including children were accompanied by Fr. George. At St.Anne, pilgrims attended Mass followed by holy hour. Then there was fellowship organised by parishioners of St. Anne. At Our Lady of Lourdes Church, pilgrims experienced the "Lourdes Bath."

English Catechism Family Day

The English Catechism family day was held on Merdeka day 31 August at the Catholic Centre at 4 - 8 pm. Fun, food and games were organised, bringing about a spirit of family and unity among all who participated. We pray our Catechism teachers and students will build better bonds through this and future family days.
